TERMITES - They are natures little recyclers, but that doesn't mean that you want them anywhere near your home. Every year, they infest more than a million homes nationwide, causing more property damage than all natural disasters combined. They are busy 24 / 7. They don't sleep, they don't take vacations, and they don't care what the economy is doing - they are too busy eating wood. Since your home is probably your biggest single investment, you'll want to protect it from these little "home wreckers".
As you'll see from the map below, we live in the highest areas of termite activity in the USA.

Termites develop via gradual metamorphosis, from eggs to nymphs, through several molts, to adult stage. They are social insects, just like ants and bees, and are, in fact, related to both. Each year, usually in the spring, each mature nest sends out special adults, called alates. These are most commonly known as "swarmers" because they swarm out of the colony in bunches, usually in the springtime. These emerging swarmers are what usually alerts you to the fact that you have a termite problem. It happens all of a sudden. From zero to hundreds in just minutes!
Treatment Options:
If your home is attacked by termites, you have options on how to get rid of them. We can perform a liquid treatment, applying a liquid termite control product into the soil around and under your home's foundation. We also can find and eliminate termite colonies using a termite bait system.
Liquid Treatment - This treatment involves applying a liquid termite control product into the soil along your home's foundation. It requires applying liquid control product into the soil along the exterior foundation wall. In areas where there is concrete slab adjacent to the foundation, such as a slab porch, sidewalk or patio, the slab area will be drilled about every 12" and liquid is pumped into the hole and under the slab. This creates a "treated zone" of soil along the foundation. In some cases, it will also require treating the soil in the attached garage, crawlspace area or basement area, too.
Bait System - Bait systems are more and more common to find around homes. The idea behind termite baiting is pretty simple: You install a bait "station" into the soil about every 10' around the home's foundation. These stations will have some sort of monitoring device in them that is a termite food source. Termites find the stations while looking for food and begin to feed on the monitor. The monitor is then replaced with a "bait" - a form of cellulose material that is treated with a product designed to kill the termites. Most baits use a growth regulator, which is a slow acting product that only kills the termites when they try to shed their skin, or "molt". Since worker termites are the ones responsible for feeding the other members of their colony, they spread the termite bait through the colony as they feed the others.
Which treatment option is the best one?
When done right, both treatment options are effective at controlling termites. However, some situations may favor one option over another. For instance, if nearby water is a concern, a bait system may be the better choice. If quick control is vital, a liquid treatment may be best. We can look over your home, with all it's specifics, and determine which option suits your needs the best.
BUGS-4-LESS! uses the patented HomeGuard Subterranean Termite Baiting System. It's the only patented termite baiting system that is proven to attract termites. It's special design allows it to cast an exaggerated Thermal Shadow. This Thermal Shadow is what subterranean termites look for when they are searching for food.
